Certified Application Counselor Program
The Connect for Health Colorado Certified Application Counselor (CAC) Program was established in the summer of 2013 to provide training to organizations throughout the state to help Coloradans apply for financial assistance and health insurance through the Marketplace. The selected organizations will not be funded through Connect for Health Colorado, but will be provided with certified training to assist their customers with the application process. The Certified Application Counselor program is now open for new applicants and is implemented in compliance with the recently revised 45 CFR § 155.225. All Designated Organizations are expected to maintain compliance with 45 CFR § 155.225 as well.
As part of the Certified Application Counselor Program, Connect for Health Colorado designates organizations that agree to certify staff or volunteers to perform the duties of Certified Application Counselors. These Designated Organizations must:
- Submit a Designated Organization application for approval by Connect for Health Colorado, including all required back-up documentation.
- Sign the Certified Application Counselor Program Designated Organization Agreement with Connect for Health Colorado and submit with the application. Only organizations will be designated. We do not accept applications from individuals.
- Successfully complete mandatory training. Information on the training will be forwarded to the organization upon approval of their application.
The application process for new organizations is now open. Please click on the below links to download and review the program documents. Instructions for submitting the completed application and agreement are included on the application.
